Unfortunately for majority of the book, things like that happen which I hated and because of that I just really can't give this a higher rating.

I can almost say that it is refreshing to try new formula in a book but the only minus point that it got too boring in the middle. There were aspects of this book that I really enjoyed, but there was a lot that felt predictable or inconsequential. Only Auren, the main protagonist, being saved from human trafficking when she was only 15 by her later on abuser Midas, who groomed her until her life revolved around him.this is meant to introduce you to characters and develop a connection with them, as well as familiarise the reader with the world, the different kingdoms, and give a hint of fae magic. This is a very popular book on tumblr/bookstagram, but it often comes with the continuation "the second book is so much better! Raven Kennedy is a tea and dark chocolate kind of girl and can often be found binge-watching The Office or The Great British Baking Show. But please note that this is only my preference, I like my fmc knows how to bite and fight back and stand up for herself.

In fact, I'm just going to refer to King Midas as Goldmember because I'm pretty sure only oversight kept him from making his dick a twenty-four karat dildo. He turned her gold - for reasons unknown - and keeps her caged up in his golden palace to apparently just watch him indulge himself in carnal exploits.Overall this is one of the best series I have read so far with an interesting take on the king Midas story.
