Description

Adding a touch of Art Deco to the table every time you’ve got guests around, this cafetière is crafted from mirror-polished stainless steel and is double-walled to keep your coffee warmer for longer.

The curved edges are part of a double-wall, which means that the coffee will be really well insulated, and also that the exterior of the unit will not be too hot to touch.

To be honest, I’m not certain how they came up with those figures, but the upshot of it is that this keeps your coffee hot for longer – up to an hour in fact. The layered stainless steel that's 33 per cent thicker sides than competitors - makes it heavy - but it's also drop-proof and going to last a very long time.

This cafetière, which has a 900ml capacity, seems like the kind of model you could rely on for years to come. With a 1 litre capacity, I am struggling to find an attribute to this where it falls short of the competition.Unique filter structure: the on-the-go coffee maker have inner special design water isolation system that can separating grounds from coffee perfectly, helping to make your cup without sediment. Sometimes known as a French press, cafetières offer a good middle ground (pun intended) between instant coffee and coffee machines. As a very young child, pressing the plunger down was always my reward if I had behaved myself during the course of a meal (we only got the cafetière out on the most special of occasions). Especially if you want to impress them with a classy piece of kitchen kit (Le Creuset has been crafting cookware since 1925), made from brightly coloured enamel and a splash of stainless steel.

The durability means that it would travel well (would be great for camping trips), and its performance is really excellent. It is only small, so best to be used for small households or maybe as a travel option, but if that is what you are after, this is perfect. It was one of the few cafetières we tested that had ‘feet’, which sit underneath the bottom of the jug. With a scribbled, matte metal exterior, it’s fair to say this cafetière is a little more creative than many others. The sediment isn't always perfectly contained by the plunger and sometimes grounds slip through the mesh filter.

Once you’ve spooned in your ground coffee and added not-quite-boiling water, you leave it for about four minutes before gently pushing the plunger to the bottom.

The grounds collect at the bottom of the cafetière; scoop them out and dispose of them as green waste. If you are in the market for one of these fine, traditional coffee makers then there are a few things to look out for. This was probably my first real experience of coffee, and the theatre and methodology involved have stayed with me all this time.
