Stick vacuum’s have had a bad rap for their lacklustre performance in the past, but things have got much better with some of the best stick vacuums sucking like there’s no tomorrow. Aside from the ability to stand up on its own accord, which makes it a hit with us for starters, the Hoover H-Free 300 looks pretty good overall. Differing in style from other cordless vacuums in the H-Free range, especially when it comes to aesthetics and runtime, the C300+ is both powerful and lightweight. This kind of design is less tiring to use than models that require you to keep the trigger depressed throughout cleaning. The C300+ has a number of features typical of other cordless vacuum cleaners, such as LED nozzle lights and a quick-release bagless bin, but the lengthy runtime and overall weight help set it apart from its competition.

By reclining the wand and adjusting the retractable handle, you can also flatten the vacuum to reach under beds and sofas, which is particularly useful when tackling those areas that barely see the light of day. Included are a 2in1 dusting/ crevice tool, to help you to reach tight spaces and to clean above floors, plus a 2in1 large dusting brush/upholstery tool for cleaning bigger surface areas and textiles.One thing we did find though is that, while the “park and go” feature that allows the vacuum to stand up is handy, it isn’t fool proof. As long as the battery keeps holding its charge, I think my other vacuum cleaner will stay in the cupboard gathering dust. Due to this, we would strongly advise against pre-booking/making payment for third party trades to build/install your item until you are in receipt of and have inspected the goods.
