Butter - you can use salted or unsalted butter depending on your own preference. Just make sure it is soft enough to mix well with the rest of the ingredients. Mint Oreo crumbs– I used Mint Oreos to carry the mint flavor all the way through, but feel free to swap them out for regular Oreos. To make this Oreo Pie, I started by dumping some vanilla instant pudding mix into a large mixing bowl along with some milk. Add the chopped Oreos evenly over the filling, then drizzle the chocolate sauce evenly over the Oreos.

Condensed Milk: Make sure that you’re using a can of sweetened condensed milk, and not evaporated milk. I love to go all out when garnishing any dessert or treat. For these mint milkshakes, I melted chocolate chips and rolled the outer edges of the glass rim in a thin layer of melted chocolate. Then, I rolled the rim in crushed Oreos, to create a delicious cookie covered rim. Cover the outsides of the pan with aluminum foil so that water from the water bath cannot get in (see how I prepare my pan for a water bath). Set prepared pan aside. Not too minty. The cheesecake filling contains a combination of mint extract and vanilla extract. The mint shines through loud and clear but the vanilla helps to cut down the almost toothpaste-like taste that you often find in mint-flavored desserts. Make the chocolate ganache. Microwave the heavy cream until it just begins to boil, pour it over the chocolate chips, allow the mixture to sit for 2-3 minutes, then whisk until smooth.

Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line a 9-inch (23cm) springform pan with parchment paper in the bottom and grease the sides.

Whipped cream– We topped our milkshake with homemade whipped cream but this is definitely optional. If desired, substitute with any whipped topping of your choice. Prep. Preheat oven to 325°F, line the bottom of a 9-inch (23cm) springform pan with parchment paper, and grease the sides. Eggs– Make sure that the eggs are at room temperature. If they are too cold, they won’t mix easily with the other ingredients. They should be large in size, not medium or extra large. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing slowly to combine after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to make sure everything is well combined.Mint Whipped Cream: used my regular sweetened whipped cream recipe, but traded the vanilla extract with mint extract and added a few drops of green food colouring so we get a nice mint flavour and appearance! Green Food Coloring - if you use food coloring drops, you’ll need to add about 5-8 drops. If you use gel coloring, just start with a small amount and add until you get the color that you want.
