Description

Firstly, the scope is a refractor type which means it can suffer from chromatic aberration, especially when used at higher magnifications. This can result in color fringing around bright objects such as the Moon or planets and may detract from the viewing experience for some astronomers. Never look directly at the Sun with the naked eye or with an optic (unless you have the proper solar filter). Permanent and irreversible eye damage may result. After my first half hour using the telescope, I was exhausted trying to work around its awful mount. However, in that time, I was able to observe the Double Cluster in Perseus, the Orion Nebula, and the Andromeda Galaxy, and I was pleased enough by them to not immediately write off the telescope as a failure.

That said, I’m about to pull the trigger on a MAK-Cass 127mm from Orion and having read this review, I have pretty high expectations of the clarity deep space bright object discovery moving forward. Hope that is true. After a rest indoors, I set the telescope up again with my good tripod, the mirror diagonal off my Orion ST80, and a red dot finder, and I went out and had a lot of fun with it. It isn’t a powerful telescope, but I personally enjoy small telescope observing quite a lot. The wide-field views you can get with small short telescopes make up for the small aperture, so you can fit a lot of stars in the eyepiece. When it comes to understanding a telescope’s ability, the aperture is the primary trait to look for because it indicates how much light can be gathered to produce the magnified image. Greater aperture captures more light resulting in better image quality and the ability to see fainter heavenly bodies that are further away.

The Celestron ExploraScope 22103 114AZ Reflector Telescope is priced like a beginner’s telescope, but it has some shortcomings that make it a poor choice except for those who really want to learn. On the plus side, it has a stable mount and tripod, so you won’t have to worry as much about that part interfering with your operation. There’s a 114-millimeter aperture, which is fairly large for the price. The included 2x Barlow lens is a nice touch, increasing what you can do with this telescope and its eyepieces without driving the price up too much.A reflector telescope uses a concave mirror, known as the primary mirror, to gather and focus light which it then reflects down the tube, usually off of a second mirror, onto the eyepiece for observation. The tripod legs are made of aluminum, which makes them lightweight yet durable, fitting perfectly with the portability theme of this model. Moreover, the tripod has an adjustable height feature that allows you to customize it according to your preferences. You can set it up at a comfortable level whether you’re observing terrestrial or astronomical objects. The Celestron 21061 AstroMaster 70AZ Refractor Telescope is positioned as an entry-level telescope, but there are some reasons that beginners could be better served by a different scope. This one does come with an alt-azimuth mount, which is better than expected on a telescope at this price point. That makes it easy to align this telescope and keep it aligned with objects in the night sky. It also has a reputation for being very easy to assemble, and it’s not a reflector telescope, so you’ll never have to collimate it. Plus, it comes with 45x and 90x magnification due to its great included eyepieces.

Celestron 21035 Travel Scope 70 Portable Refractor Telescope

This telescope features an erecting eyepiece for easier viewing, a 5×24 finder scope located on the side, and a convenient phone adapter that allows you to take videos and pictures. The phone adapter also helps with searching for celestial bodies and can act as a finder. This telescope set weighs only 2.07kg, including the lightweight aluminium alt-az tripod with retractable legs. No tools are required for setup. The Celestron travel scope 70 portable is designed to deliver crisp images of celestial objects such as the moon, planets, and stars. It comes with premium-quality optics that enable you to enjoy clear views of the night sky. The lens is coated with anti-reflective materials to prevent glare and distortion while observing bright objects like stars. This refractor telescope features an equatorial mount and a 70mm aperture with a 700mm focal length. It comes with 10mm and 20mm Plossl eyepieces. Plossl eyepieces effectively reduce the halo effect and chromatic aberration, both of which can diminish your viewing overall experience. Plossl eyepieces also create a brighter image so you can get a clear picture of a variety of planets and other celestial objects. The idea of a wi-fi-enabled telescope is good, but the Celestron Astro Fi 102 fails to live up to most users’ expectations. Its big selling feature is that it comes with a wi-fi card, so you can connect it to your home network or to a cellphone, and control it through your smartphone. There’s also a cellphone adapter, which allows you to take pictures and use your cellphone as a screen so multiple people can view the image at once. The Celestron Travelscope 70 has an aperture of 70mm. This is a great size for a travel telescope, as it allows you to see many celestial objects while still being portable and easy to use. What is the magnification of the Celestron Travelscope 70?If you’re looking for a portable and easy-to-use entry-level telescope that is perfect for travel, the Celestron Travelscope 70 might just be what you’re looking for. This 70mm refractor telescope is designed to be lightweight and easy to transport, making it the ideal companion for any astronomer who loves to travel. What is the Celestron Travelscope 70? The Celestron Travelscope 70 comes with two eyepieces, a 10mm and a 20mm, which provide magnifications of 40x and 20x respectively. With these eyepieces, you can see jupiter, saturn, and even some planets. What is the focal length of the Celestron Travelscope 70? The Bresser Classic telescope features a 70mm aperture, with three eyepieces for sky viewing – 4mm, 12.5mm, and 20mm. It has an 18x-140x potential magnification and a 350mm focal length that enables a wide viewing area to be accessed through the tube. The 5×24 viewfinder has a hair cross design for easy and specific targeting. An erecting prism is also incorporated into the refractor design to create an upright, correct image for observation. Lastly, while the focal ratio of f/5.7 makes this scope quite fast, allowing for brighter views of deep-sky objects like galaxies and nebulae, it also means that there is a smaller margin of error when focusing. This can make it more difficult for beginners who are still learning how to properly focus their telescopes. However, with practice and patience, focusing should become easier over time.

The Orion Nebula showed its bright core easily, though somewhat softly, and hinted at the tenuous outer layers of gas and dust. Three stars in the trapezium were easily resolved, and the fourth wasn’t too difficult at 40x. At low power, the entire Orion’s Sword stellar association is visible and very pretty, with the nebula showing up as a fuzzy blob in the middle. As I write this, there are no planets worth looking at (Mars is a dot in even the largest telescopes), so the only high-resolution tests I could put the telescope through were of double stars and the Moon.

Featuring a compact and portable design with ample optical performance, the Celestron Travel Scope 70 Telescope is ideal for terrestrial as well as casual astronomical observation. The Celestron Travelscope 70 is a travel scope that is designed to be portable and easy to use. This 70mm refractor telescope is compact and lightweight, making it an ideal choice for those who want to take their astronomy hobby on the road. What are the features of the Celestron Travelscope 70? Of course, the Celestron Travel Scope does have some room to grow and improve when it comes to the mount and the lenses but you can easily upgrade these components when and if you are ready to maximise the scope’s abilities. I was able to see the Clown Face Nebula, though it required a higher magnification of 67x to resolve it as a planet-shaped nebula instead of a star, I only suspected it was a nebula at 40x.
