In terms of energy efficiency, the T4R includes smart scheduling and adaptive technology. It can learn the heating and cooling patterns of a household and adjust the temperature accordingly, ensuring comfortable temperatures while minimizing energy consumption. This can result in potential cost savings over time. This also makes it easier to stream Freeview channels over broadband (as those IP-based channels are then swapped automatically, and put in place of the aerial-based channels on your EPG). On the 3 series, you could search for the name of a programme or film, and see results for it on the catch-up apps listings – that is, whether it’s available on BBC iPlayer, All4, etc. That’s the thing with Volvos. The T3-R includes Manhattan TV’s unique Watchlist feature which allows viewers to store all their on-demand TV choices in one place, regardless of which player they come from. The PVR also supports 4K Ultra HD and HDR (HDR10 and hybrid log-gamma) from YouTube and iPlayer respectively. The T4-R will also feature a recording LED indicator, a long-requested feature that will notify users when the box is actively recording content from Freeview. The T3-R’s Discontinuation: An End Of An Era

While the ongoing delay is undoubtedly frustrating for those keen on upgrading their Freeview experience, the new features and improvements in the T4 and T4-R models seem worth the wait (depending on the official price, of course – which we still don’t know).
