So I think this product could work if it fits into your routine. If you have really dehydrated skin and you want one hardcore hydrating product in your routine that keeps your skin plump all day – this isn’t it. But if you want something lightweight and soothing, if your skin isn’t super thirsty, if you want a hydrating toner for summer, or if you use lots of layers of hydration, if you’re doing the 7 skins method, this is great. But in general, this is a very popular product that works well for a lot of people and it’s a great first product if you’re dipping your toes into Korean skincare. Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner I only buy mineral sunscreens because I live near the ocean and all chemical sunscreens are toxic to marine life. However, it is incredibly hard to find one that leaves little white cast and is not overly drying or sensitizing. I have very sensitive, cystic acne prone skin and am also prone to dryness so it is a bit of a hassle to find a sunscreen that hits all my requirements but this one does! The ATO formula was much too drying, but this one is so moisturizing and I think because of the extra moisturizing ingredients it actually is much more sheer (although I am very pale as it stands). If you have oilier skin I would go with the ATO formula or at least would not use this one with a moisturizer. This sunscreen also does not break me out or cause irritation. If you are concerned about the health safety of parabens, then feel free to avoid them by looking out for the Paraben-Free icon.

kDa version: apart from moisturizing, this sizemight also help the skin to repair itself by increasing its self-defense. It is also claimed to boost the wound healing process and is especially helpful for sensitive skin types (acne, rosacea, inflammation-related skin diseases).Sometimes I have some doubts about whether all the retinal makes it out of some encapsulation systems. But I don’t think it’s a big issue for cyclodextrin (the main system used in skincare products with retinal), or liposomes, which is what Beauty of Joseon uses. The retinal is at 0.02% which is a low-to-medium concentration.

Other (less serious) concernsare if EGF can properly penetrate the skin (as it is a medium-sized, polar molecule, so a special deliverysystem is probably needed), if it can affectcollagen synthesis (or just works on the surface plumping up only the upmost layers of the skin) and if it has beneficial effects at all when used in isolation versus when used in a "conditioned media" that contains lots of growth factors resembling the synergistic balance found in the skin.
