Use a leave-on emollient as a soap substitute and continue with standard eczema management, including regular leave-on emollients and topical corticosteroids when required It's a good idea to protect babies' hands and cheeks with an emollient before mealtimes to stop them getting sore from food and drink.

Also difficulty to prescribe for Primary Care due to not being DM+d mapped Fragrance-free 2-in-1 moisturising cream and wash with natural oatmeal (avena sativa kernal flour) for use in the management of dry skin conditions as may be found in eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, ichthyosis, elderly pruritus and other dry skin conditions. Adverse reactions: A highly moisturising gel for regular and frequent use in eczema, psoriasis and other dry skin conditions. When considering switching between emollients to first line choices please do not switch stable patients with severe dermatological conditions.

Frequency of application will be determined by severity of the condition and whether more than one emollient is being used. As a general guide, it is recommended that AproDerm ® Ointment is applied as often as required as well as being used as a pre-bathing emollient to help alleviate the drying effects of bathing. Be careful not to slip when using emollients in a bath or shower, or on a tiled floor. Protect the floor with a non-slip mat, towel or sheet. Wear protective gloves, wash your bath or shower afterwards with hot water and washing-up liquid, then dry with a kitchen towel. Skin irritation from aqueous cream ZeroAQS Emollient Cream adds moisture to the skin and acts as an effective emollient for the relief of flaking dry skin conditions. ZeroAQS can also be used as a skin cleanser as an alternative to soap.
