These sandals have the super grippy and flexible sole of the rest of the KEEN Terradora footwear range, which I already love, but with a sandal as an upper. If you've read other Hiking For Her footwear reviews, you already know I'm obsessed with the soles on the trail shoes or boots that protect my tender soles. I have previously owned two pairs of Keen hiking boots, and have worn each until they were beyond repair, usually around three years of frequent nearly year-round use, in the rough and variable conditions we find in Vermont. These boots are a really good fit; I have tried the boot with a mid-weight sock, and though the fit is more snug, there has been no discomfort.

With our updated Terradora waterproof hiking shoes, we kept all the things women love about the original and added more performance, more comfort, and more traction—so you can go even further and stay out there longer. I have used the boot on early winter snow hiking and snowshoeing outings, so stick season (aka shoulder season) snowy hiking is also within this boot's capabilities. In short, these are designed to take you wherever a hiking shoe can take you, but without the need for laces. Our conditions have resulted in the boot getting quite wet more than once, and yet, my socks have remained dry.

Designed by Women, for Women: Contoured fit to support women’s biomechanics with room for toes to comfortably splay. They’re made for snow days, mud days, and days where the rocks are so hot you can see the heat radiating off of them.

I’m a big fan of the Terradora II styling and absolutely love the range of colours that they come in.

Since then I’ve worn my Keen Terradora boots probably as often as my trainers, both girls have worn Keen walking boots for kids and all three children had summer sandals last year which were fantastic for exploring and paddling in streams! FIT: I have been able to put on a pair of new Keens right out of the box, and have had no issues with break-in on the new boots. As a long time user of Keen, Hiking For Her is in a unique position to analyze and comment on this new trail shoe from Keen. My one and only minor niggle with the boots is the length of the laces which I feel are quite short, and I’m considering replacing them, so a more generous lace length would have been nice.

Although I usually hike with two pairs of socks (liners + a thicker heel cushioned pair), I was able to cut that back to just one pair of socks, and had zero hot spots. The original feels like a very lightweight boot and when I was new to them, I wasn’t convinced they were up to the job of tackling a tough mountain hike in Scotland, but the lightweight boot did prove capable despite it looking and feeling more like a fair-weather trail hiking boot.

Care and Cleaning:The boots can be brushed off with a damp sponge to remove accumulated dirt and debris. While the arch support was adequate and the padding kept my feet comfortable on this cushy trail, I'm not sure that would be good enough if you were doing a more demanding hike. All labels and swing tags are still attached to the garment, All labels and swing tags are still attached to the garment, and any boxed items are kept in the original box. Hopefully the British weather won’t put this to the test but judging by how they feel, I am quite confident that they would succeed.

Colors: The Terradora II is available in seven different colors; I have been testing the Timberwolf/Coral combination. I always like to wait until I’ve had time to test products out properly before sharing what I think, which means that sometimes you have to wait a good few weeks before I get to featuring things on here – I have had these since mid-June-ish and am not ashamed that it’s taken me until now to put my thoughts online. Lightweight and waterproof, the Keen Women's Terradora II Waterproof Low hiking shoes also feature KonnectFit, a heel-capture system for a locked-in fit.
