There were several moments in which I contemplated not finishing Platform Seven because for the most part, it was just a really awful book. But I'm glad I finished it anyway even though reading the last quarter of it still didn't change my opinion on this book. This is an unnerving, chilling and deeply unsettling novel from Louise Doughty, a literary blend of haunting ghost story and thriller revolving around two suicides that take place on the eponymous Platform Seven at Peterborough Station. In the very early hours of a bitterly cold November morning, a man makes his way to an isolated part of the station, far from any member of staff, thinking himself entirely alone as he walks purposefully to the edge of the platform. He is not alone, he is closely observed by the ghost of Lisa Evans, a secondary school teacher, but she is unable to intervene and prevent the tragedy that ensues. Unusually, the story is narrated by Lisa's ghost. I’m super excited to be taking the lead in this amazing psychological thriller, based on Louise Doughty’s phenomenal best-selling novel," said Jasmine. "I’m also thrilled that I get to show audiences a completely different side to what I can do on screen with this character.”

Doughty’s description of the former is, to use that word again, haunting. Through the eyes of Evans’s ghost, who can not only pass through physical doors but also see past, present, and future, we enter into the apparent logic, and begin to see the patterns of, coercive control. They are described in the “matter-of-fact” manner of one who believes, and yet knows she can do so only by suspending her unbelief and her sense of what is acceptable and proportionate — essentially, her sense of self. Clinical psychologist and profiler Tony Hill and detective Carol Jordan are not in good places, literally or emotionally, as Val McDermid’s How the Dead Speak opens. At the start of the 11th book in the series, Tony is in prison, six months into a four-year sentence for killing a murderer to prevent Carol from having to do it; Carol has resigned from the police force and is trying to deal with her PTSD. Her former team, meanwhile, is struggling without her as they look into the discovery of a large number of bodies in the grounds of a convent, while a serial killer is plotting his next move. This might be well into the Hill/Jordan series, but McDermid’s storytelling is as classy and compelling as ever.

Score for PLATFORM

Platform Seven is beautifully written I sank into the writing of it - and the premise was clever and involving. Told from the point of view of a ghost, haunting a train station, there is a mix of mystery and drama that was immediately engaging. I made the same mistake that women and girls throughout the ages and across continents have so often made, the one that is so easy, so seductive, so flattering to ourselves. I mistook possessiveness for love. Darren demonstrated in all aspects of the care that he was involved the ability to adhere to the Code, and clearly identified the Duty of Candour. He also had to think critically and used an array of evidence to draw conclusions and actions about the care he provided.

As the narrative slowly progresses ghost-Lisa seems increasingly incongruous. Although she initially stresses that she is a mere consciousness with no links to her past, she can also 'see', 'float', and move her human-shaped-ghost-body.You do know she doesn’t like me all that much, don’t you?” How does Matty separate Lisa from her friends? I wouldn't say this is really a thriller, maybe more a mystery but the mystery isn't that good nor is there any big twist at the end. It is more of a character study. Drawing upon his knowledge and that of his supervisor Grace, Darren administered intravenous drugs under her supervision.

Through coaching, offer suggestions for Darren to link his learning of effective leadership and different styles to those nurses who would normally co-ordinate the ward. Based on the novel of the same name by Louise Doughty, the "haunting" and "nail-biting" series follows Lisa (Jobson) after she witnesses a catastrophic event on platform 7 of a railway station. The trauma somehow jogs her memory and reveals a connection between her own life and the event. He asked Colin, the HCA to support both students to deliver care to all three women, but particularly Janet and Annie. There was another RN on duty responsible for the other people in the bay. Putting the proficiencies into practice All three women were very anxious and scared and Darren considered each person individually to understand and alleviate their concerns. Platform 7 is adapted by one of the UK’s most accomplished screenwriters, Paula Milne. The multi award-winning screenwriter is best known for The Politician’s Wife, Him, White Heat and The Virgin Queen. In spite of its flaws Platform Seven is a lot more thoughtful than one might expect from its murder mystery premise. There's no news on if the series will air in the US, but Fremantle will handle the international distribution of the drama. Platform 7 plot - what happens?
