Other than that, I guess the book says good things that you've probably heard before: Eat real foods, less meat, and exercise more. It doesn't cover anything very extensively, however, and the author says "she doesn't believe in" or is "opposed to" certain elements in a couple of sentences here and there without going into much description, while I've read other books that are pro-whatever it is and have gone into much more detail as to why it's good for you. Conflicting opinions and even research will always be present if you read multiple health books, but I'm less likely to listen to something when it doesn't give much reason behind why you should or shouldn't do something. I'm surprised to hear that you have not noticed any difference since using one of our products! Our products contain high-quality ingredients, that help support and maintain healthy-looking skin. Dr. Fitzgerald has divided Younger You into three parts. Part 1 starts with a basic, foundational explanation of epigenetic change as it relates to chronological and biological aging. She then stresses the need to understand that we can influence how and when these changes occur through scientifically validated lifestyle interventions. My dark spots appeared quite suddenly and dramatically, quite large, lots together, all on one arm. The dark spot vanish cream has gradually faded them so that someone I showed them to had difficulty seeing them! The book was not that simplistic at all. There is a lot of scientific information about DNA methylation with specific recommendations for each age group - and even recommendations for healthy eating before pregnancy for male and female.

It’s true: getting older is inevitable and your chronological age can only move in one direction. But you also have a biological age, which scientists can measure by assessing how your genes are expressed through epigenetics. Exciting new research shows that your bio age can actually move in reverse-and Dr. Kara Fitzgerald’s groundbreaking, rigorous clinical trial proved it’s possible. By eating delicious foods and establishing common-sense lifestyle practices that positively influence genetic expression, study participants reduced their bio age by just over three years in only eight weeks! She advises to limit starchy vegetables to no more than 2 servings per week but doesn't specify what they are. The week 1 Vegetarian Plan has 3 starchy vegetables (potatoes, sweet potatoes and corn) in addition to the starches from grains, beans and fruit. Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, there was some good information in here. On the other hand, rigorous scientific studies were mixed with statements that certain health issues were "likely" due to DNA methylation status, without any references to studies showing correlation, as if everything should be seen through the lens of DNA methylation. The beginning of the book seemed to imply that strict adherence to her diet is required, but later in the book she is quite willing to allow or disallow parts of the diet, depending on whether you are pregnant, vegan/vegetarian, or simply don't feel like following such a strict diet. Also, her definition of time-restricted eating (12 hours on, 12 hours off) was surprisingly lax when the other parts of her program were very strict. Her explanation for a 12-hour fasting window was that anything longer than 12 hours was just "too difficult" for most people. Yet she was quite insistent that everyone must eat a LOT of liver or at the very least take liver pills. She mandates that everyone should eliminate all processed foods that are enriched with folic acid, but then later recommends supplements that contain folic acid in certain circumstances. Confusing advice. There is definitely a lot of thought and work put into the recommendations in this book. Medical studies and research findings are documented to a degree that would satisfy most any nutrition wonk. The principles are documented in an accessible way and the author includes both fixed meal plans and more general guidelines to accommodate different approaches to eating plans.

It consists of roughly 45-50% fat, 15-20% protein, and 30-35% carbs. The amount of protein is 0.66 grams per kilogram of body weight for individuals under 60 years of age; For older individuals 1-1.2 grams per kilogram are prescribed. Organic is encouraged but not mandated, lentils and dairy are largely absent due to their inflammatory potential, and a 12-hour eating window is implemented to capture the benefits of intermittent fasting. In addition to specific guidelines and tables for making food selections, specific menus are also provided for a more scripted approach. Dr. Fitzgerald also provides specific guidelines for vegans and vegetarians. The idea is that eating unhealthily ages us prematurely, increases our chances of having obesity, high blood pressure, cholesterol, cancer, and causes us to look and feel old before our time. movement (exercise) 30 min x 5 days a week at moderate intensity. Walking or yoga is best. More exercise might not be better.

Wanted to find out what all the talk is about. We eat a Mediterranean diet and I loved listening to this audio book as it's very similar. Didn’t think that it was working then just coming up to a month Hey Presto! Nearly there . So grateful for this product and the support and follow up that you offer . One of the differences I noticed when comparing the two diets, is that Greek yogurt is preferred by the Mediterranean diet and discouraged in the DASH diet. Heller states she "discourages Greek yogurt...because much of the potassium and calcium is lost during the filtration process, and these are the key mineral you need for the DASH diet to work." Instead, she recommends low-fat and nonfat dairy and states yogurt is a source of "good bacteria" for your gut.The cream glides on your skin and feels lovely! According to Dr Sister's records, I have been using the cream for a month. Yes I can see the difference (even tho I didn't do a before & after picture) I do try not to lie on either side for too long at night (after Dr Sister's tip!) not always easy for me, but I'm trying! Even a slight improvement I would've been happy with. All good things take time to work! At Abundance 360, David Sinclair made quite a number of encouraging comments about the future of aging research, including methods of resetting epigenetics to a youthful state. Emmett Short discusses these comments […]
