Before you decide whether or not to pay for it, you should consider where your car will spend most of its time when you’re not driving it. If you park it outside overnight, near trees or overhead cables where birds roost, paint protection is probably a good investment.

Equally, if you’re prepared to clean your car regularly and look after the paintwork, or get a professional detailer to polish it and remove any blemishes, there’s little argument for protection products. This approach might also work out cheaper, depending on how frequently you clean the car. Without Ceramic Coat protection their paintwork could be become dull and faded over time when exposed to atmospheric pollutants and harsh car wash chemicals. Paintwork will progressively fade and hold dirt meaning cleaning and washing will become harder. Combined with an innovative interior protection system, Ceramic Coat also shields the surfaces and fabrics inside the vehicle. It makes everyday spills, dirt and grime easier to remove and is also: As one of the worlds leading Formula One Teams, we’ve all heard of Williams. The Williams name instantly makes us think of an exciting, powerful and strong brand. With such a renowned brand that boasts such an impressive history, the team at Williams had to ensure they partnered with a licensee capable of protecting and enhancing their reputation. That is why they chose Ultimotive!Wax acts as a protectant to your paint. If you've ever been gifted some artisan waxed cheese you'll be familiar with the protective qualities of a wax casing; it'll protect the cheese from water, sun and other contaminants. Car wax works the same but on a much larger scale and the layer it forms is invisible. A good car was won't wear off easily and will protect your paint from heat, UV rays, water and other contaminants. Some of the more expensive waxes will also provide a nice deep shine. Paste wax will take the longest to apply but will give the best overall coverage. It will provide a much deeper shine and finish but can easily eat up an entire afternoon. Different formulas have different ingredients. However, they all are relatively versatile and very well able to work with different surfaces, including but not limited to painted steel, fiberglass, metal, regular glass, clear plastic, etc.

Similarly to its competitor Polished Pigs, Bear Car Care is a brand started by two enthusiasts. Again, to get a fine spray you have to adjust the trigger nozzle, which can be annoying as you have to find the sweet spot every time you use it. It’s definitely worth the trouble, however, as Brilliance performed well in the cleaning test, coming in just behind our top two. The hybrid formula left a finish that continued repelling water for days to come, so it performed well on the beading front. Synthetic wax is also referred to as paint sealant. Making use of synthetic polymers that bond with your car’s paint to create a tough layer of protection. They can last up to 12 months but won’t offer the same shine as carnauba wax. However, if the car is usually garaged overnight, rarely spends an evening outside or doesn’t cover many miles, there’s probably less need for a protective coating. Now I’m not gonna lie, this is still hard work. It’s easier than using water and soap because it takes less time, is less messy and you don’t get cold thanks to working with water. However, arm ache is still a thing and by god, I was hot and sweaty after this! Before I got my own car, I pictured myself cleaning it regularly, keeping it nice and tidy inside. In reality, I’ve managed to hit the four months mark without once cleaning the outside of my car. Glamorous.Add a few drops of wax to a microfibre cloth or pad and apply it to your car by working your way over the body panels in small, overlapping circular motions. That way, you get an even and full coating on your car. Not all wax is the same and it’s worth knowing the different types so you can get the right results: Both will create a protective layer for your car’s paint from UV rays, water and other contaminants but do not last as long as synthetic waxes. You’ll typically need to wax your car every six weeks if you use carnauba wax. We have worked closely alongside Williams since 2005 to successfully launch and supply an exciting range of high-end, leading chemical paint protection and car care products into the marketplace. As one of their long-standing licensee’s, our history with Williams speaks volumes for the level of care and service the team at Ultimotive delivers. It also says a lot about our results! Make sure your car is as clean as possible and towel dry. Inspect the paint to see if polishing will be needed before you apply your wax. There isn't much point waxing a scruffy, stone chipped mess of a car. If your paint is looking good then all you need to do is make sure your car isn't in direct sunlight before you set to work waxing it.

Most detailers will recommend using a clay bar first if you're wanting to apply wax to your car. This will keep your paintwork free of any contaminants so you get a better overall finish. If you want to know more about this process, we've written a guide to clay barring. Keeping your finish in tip-top condition takes some regular care and attention, and decent car polish. Applying a premium car polish to your car after washing helps to bring out the quality of your finish. It’s the final step before your final car wax coat.Your customer’s shiny new car begins to look less shiny and new? Let’s face it, you can’t stop the rain falling or the kids spilling their drinks. Significant benefits The 1L bottle should fully clean up to 5 medium sized vehicles, so that’s pretty good if you ask me. You’ll most likely only be cleaning your own so depending on how often you clean your car, it should last a while! Even longer if yours is little like mine… Ceramic wax is the next big thing in car wax. Proper ceramic waxing is best left to the experts thanks to the long curing time required, but it will leave a hard coating that can last for years. There are also hybrid ceramic options that blend synthetic wax with silicon dioxide ceramic to give you similar results that you can do yourself. Available as a paste, spray or liquid it won’t last as long as proper ceramic coating but it's far easier to apply.

Paint protection is definitely a good, low-maintenance way of keeping your car’s exterior in top condition. It means it will be easier to clean and you won’t have to worry so much about polishing it or small bits of damage. Once professionally appliedto your customer’s vehicle, Ceramic Coat leaves an extremely durable and high-gloss finish which prevents pollutants from impacting their car’s paintwork. It resists UV light, cold, frost, acid rain, exhaust fumes, bird lime (provided it is removed within 21 days) and solvents. AutoProtect has joined forces with the Williams Formula One team to bring you an extraordinary vehicle protection product.

Autoglym Super Resin Polish Complete Kit

The formula contains hydrocarbon ingredients and carnauba wax, giving your car that shiny look as well as giving paint protection too. It’s supposed to help protect your car against the elements and actually when I left for work in the rain the morning after I did notice that the raindrops looked more like they were just sitting on top rather than really wetting the car. That’s hard to explain… Ceramic Coat protects your customer’s vehicle’s paintwork, alloys, bumpers, glass (except front and rear screens) even interior surfaces and fabrics. They are all shielded. Ceramic Coat is guaranteed for the lifetime of their vehicle ownership*and the vehicle will never have to be polished again. Spray wax is more of a top-up product and won't last anywhere near as long as the others but it's still useful if you're in a rush. I was gifted a bottle of the Williams Waterless Wash ‘N Wax and two microfibre cloths – both necessary to get the full effect of the product. One cloth to do the cleaning, and one to do the buffing afterwards. To clean your car all you need to do is spray some of the liquid and simply wipe/scrub it away. I was surprised at how well it did work to be honest.
