Not to mention the whole problem got solved when the heroine started to be sensible and picked up hero's phone. Possessive, bossy, growly and oh so dirty 🥵🥵🥵 but few times he does things that makes you question "do I find this hot? Only read this far because I was hoping FMC would escape this horrible situation and find a better life while getting revenge on MMC, but that is clearly not where this book was heading. It is very dark in places and SA is used by Elijah which to some could be triggering, also the level of control and dominance from Elijah was very extreme which again could be triggering and was hard to read . The way there relationship starts isn’t anything conventional but I love seeing they’d relationship develop to the point it is now.

She is kidnapped, she is blackmailed into staying kidnapped such that her family aren’t killed, she is nearly r*ped by Elijah’s security (despite Elijah apparently handpicking the best of the best), then r*ped with a weapon, r*ped by him and then, even after she YELLS “STOP”, Elijah comes in her regardless.I was actually far more invested in where this random threat was going than I normally am in a romance novel!

This is swiftly followed by “I’m sorry I’ve upset you but you have to understand this is your life now. My only qualm with this book was - the first kiss either wasn’t mentioned (hey, I’m a romantic, I enjoy the smut but I LIVE for that first kiss) or it was mentioned and it was on their wedding day…. I must admit that i wasnt 100% sure about it in the beginning Stalker posessive guy watches a girl for 10 years while planning to kidnap her and by one way or another make her his, which made me think of a modern day version of beauty and the beast but with the beast being a dominant, violent, emotionally unavailable rival mafia lord who is obessseed with a somewhat spoilt, stroppy, argumentative girl. But seeming as how it’s meant to… invoke certain feelings in the reader, it was a little (ok, extremely) hard to swallow and wrap my mind around it.Because these "chigaco's most dangerous mafia men" didn't have enough manpower to find them so they just sat and waited like fucking idiots. In my opinion I think this book was a little spicier than the previous books which I loved, especially when a certain toy was involved. She lives in Australia with her husband and four cats, and is a self proclaimed garlic bread connoisseur.
