Timed auto on (via LCD) | This Means you can have your machine heated up and ready when you wake up grams dose for full flavour. Achieve a consistent and balanced espresso using the right amount of ground coffee. The 58mm porta-filter with 19-22 grams is the key for full flavour and third wave specialty coffee. The Nespresso Vertuo pop is the latest addition to the Vertuo range and is supremely easy to use with its simple, single-button control scheme. It works with Nespresso’s larger Vertuo capsules to brew four coffee sizes – espresso (40ml), double espresso (80ml), lungo (120ml) and mug (230ml). Alongside its variety of pods, the Pop comes in a large range of eye-catching colours including spicy red, pacific blue, aqua mint and mango yellow to name a few. The Dual Boiler from Sage is a serious machine aimed at people who want the full coffee shop experience at home. It’s exceptionally well made, has industrial-quality components and comes with dual boilers so you can steam milk and pour espresso at the same time.

I class the shot quality potential of the Oracle & Oracle Touch to be about on parr with that of the Sage Dual Boiler paired with the Sage Smart Grinder Pro, which is good – but not as good as if you paired it with a more premium espresso specialist grinder costing 2-3 times the cost of the Sage Smart Grinder Pro. It's also possible to go further than this and do what is known as flow profiling, with the help of a scale which gives you flow data such as the Acaia Lunar, and with a very simple (and free, and completely reversible) mod to the machine which enables you to control the pump pressure via the hot water knob. If you take espresso and milk-based drinks seriously, there is no substitute for a double-boiler espresso machine. It is the only way to achieve the precise temperature control needed to get the best from your specialty coffee. Stainless steel has a lower thermal conductivity than copper. It is widely used because it is corrosion-resistant and more affordable.

Key Features Of The Dual Boiler

Most people are more than happy with the cappuccino, latte and Americano these kinds of machines will make, and if you are, there's absolutely nothing wrong with bean to cup machines, they can be a very cheap, convenient and reliable way to drink great quality coffee shop favourites at home. The little “Empty Me” paddle that pops up when the drip tray is full, it just makes sense, and you'd think drip tray full indicators would be a standard thing, but they're definitely not. Who are they for? As with integrated grinder espresso machines, this kind of machine is best suited to people who want to develop home barista skills. You can reduce the skill requirement by using the dual walled baskets they all come with as well as the traditional baskets, but if you don't want a learning curve, you'd be much better looking at the assisted machines.

Whether you’re a fan of cappuccino, macchiato, espresso, mocha, ristretto or just plain-old filter coffee, only the very best coffee machines will make you the coffee you want time after time. Thing is, choosing the right machine for you depends not only on your favourite type of coffee, but also on how much time, effort and money you want to invest in the brewing process.

Is it better to buy a reconditioned Sage Coffee machines instead of a used or second hand Sage Coffee machines?

I reviewed the Sage Oracle not long after starting the blog, but that was because Sage had a demo machine doing the rounds at the time, and they were kind enough to trust me with it for a couple of weeks on loan. I didn't buy a new one purely because I was planning to do some mods to it, and I thought I might break it ;-), I also wasn't expecting to be so impressed with it to the point that I wanted to keep it! Steam lever, rather than a rotary steam knob | It's just easier, less effort, and I find it really satisfying using a steam lever The Breville brand is owned in the UK by an American firm called Newell Brands, and they sell coffee machines using the Breville brand, but they are not the same as the Sage coffee machines that sell as Breville in other parts of the world. One of the reasons the home barista community were probably sceptical, to begin with, is that when this machine was newer, no one had had one for long enough to understand if there were any potential long-term issues, and the price of this machine does seem a bit too good to be true.
