About this deal

It was super insightful and a symptom led approach to understanding our body over the regular hormone led books. THE INSTANT NUMBER ONE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER'A wonderful book' Dr Chris van Tulleken, Sunday Times bestselling author of Ultra-Processed PeopleSleep better thanks to cherriesFix your brain fog with good fatsImprove your metabolism with brazil nutsWhen we talk about hormones, we so often think of them as a 'women's issue'.

Particularly fascinating learning about ingredients in food and even ‘healthy bars’ and vegan burgers which are super anti inflammatory and not great for you. But our hormones regulate everything from our sleep, to the way we eat, our stress response and our moods. I left it a few weeks before thinking, "Come in, be open-minded and give it another shot, you might learn something ' alas I did not. It's very trendy, sweary, social media junky type persona from the author but some people might like that. I managed to get halfway through before realising I was arguing outloud with her 'science based' claims with no credible, non biased evidence to back up her sweeping statements. In Hack Your Hormones Davinia Taylor, entrepreneur and biohacking pioneer, breaks down how best to optimise all of our hormones. Biography: Entrepreneur, biohacking pioneer, weight loss expert and mother of four, Davinia Taylor's career started on television. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Davinia gives symptom-led advice, backed up with the expertise of a doctor, on how lifestyle hacks and supplements can balance our cortisol, adrenaline, dopamine and more, even Vitamin D (yep, it's a hormone).

I was all praise for this book until near the end the author talks about her diet during her menstrual cycle, and she doesn’t eat solid food until 6pm for some weeks? THE INSTANT NUMBER ONE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER 'A wonderful book' Dr Chris van Tulleken, Sunday Times bestselling author of Ultra-Processed People Sleep better thanks to cherries Fix your brain fog with good fats Improve your metabolism with brazil nutsWhen we talk about hormones, we so often think of them as a 'women's issue'. This means it's not only insulting and disrespectful to anyone following this lifestyle for ethical, religious etc beliefs but it also makes this book useless if you are plantbased/vegan because you'll get very little information to support your chosen lifestyle since she simply isn't open to helping you and has some warped hatred of you. PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

So glad I had this on audible because there's so many words that I didn't particularly understand that I'd have been reading over and over to try and get them to sink in. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. It would be more useful to give lots of options, present what she's discovered with kindness and consideration to a variety of people's life circumstances, then it widens who can access the "hacks". By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file.

Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for ways to hack their lifestyle a bit in manageable ways, but as others have mentioned, I will probably need to re-read to fully absorb all the info. until it comes to her personal hatred of vegans where she thinks its then OK to ditch the science and facts and uses it as a platform to say how much she hates vegans, plantbased diets etc with alot of claims based on her prejudiced and misunderstandings, and not actually science and facts. Everyone’s entitled to what works for their body, but I personally think not biting anything until the evening is extremely unhealthy and can ruin your relationship with food. There is a particular focus on the fact that this is not a one-size-fits-all solution, which I really appreciate. This book is written in a way that makes the information easily makes sense without loads of technical jargon. As a desperate 54 year old menopausal, overweight , sleep deprived nightmare, never knowing where to start with any of it, I finally feel like there's light at the end of the tunnel. This groundbreaking new book is full of simple, accessible hacks that will make you feel not just better, but amazing.

The reason I'm giving it a one star however, is that she begins with going on about how she only wants science facts, everything about science and facts, only the science and facts. Her food supplement business, Willpowders, helps an ever-confused population crush cravings and achieve genuine wellbeing. It would cost a small fortune to keep up with the regime being suggested, and some aren't even available in the UK. If you didn't already know that sugar, alcohol and ultra processed foods are bad for you, you may find this book enlightening.
