However, if you set Iron BIAS to Low, the metal detector will perform better when detection coins among iron rubbish. This function does provide clearer signals from coins, but during the testing process, the metal detector functioned in All Metal mode. We didn’t perform testing at various discrimination modes; thus, I’d recommend using this function with care in this case. Models Minelab Vanquish 340 The 340 is still a great option for those on a stricter budget. Both the Vanquish series and Equinox series have higher Target ID accuracy at maximum depth and faster recovery speed, making them a true contender in the metal detecting world.

It has 3 Target Tones (Low, Mid, High) and 10 adjustable volume levels so you can adjust it to the most comfortable setting. The standard coil on the 440 is a waterproof (up to 3.3 feet) V10 (10” by 7”) Double-D search coil. The Vanquish line can use different coils. Minelab’s Vanquish 440 is a great entry-level metal detector with some features that are not often found on beginner metal detectors. It comes standard with Minelab’s patented Multi-IQ technology. Multi-IQ is a multiple frequency technology that allows the metal detector to operate on multiple frequencies simultaneously. Depth Indicator Levels: Will allow you to estimate the depth of your target … Each level is about 2 and half inches … Thus, you won’t need to dig a deeper hole to extract your find.

Minelab Vanquish 540 Key Features

Both the Vanquish 440 and Vanquish 540 metal detectors feature Minelab’s Multi-IQ technology. Both have 19 automatic noise cancel. Both have 10 levels of sensitivity and volume adjustments. The Vanquish 540 has adjustable iron bias while the 440 has iron bias preset at high. The Vanquish 540 has Bluetooth connectivity while the 440 does not. The Simplex+ is a single frequency VLF metal detector operating at 12 kHz. This model has frequency shift which allows it to compensate for electromagnetic interference. This does not mean the model has multiple frequencies, but rather than it can slightly shift frequencies to compensate for interference.

Probably the most exciting feature of the Vanquish Series, which puts it way ahead of others in its price range (and above), The company designed a new shaft for its new metal detectors product line, as it was done for Minelab Go-Find. However, unlike that model, this one has a sectional shaft and it’s not that small sized.

VANQUISH 440 Tech Specs

There is no need to learn the complexities of various settings, the hard work has been done for you. Turn on, select a mode, detect. Features Reverse the Arm Cup for storage and transport. Detect Modes Minelab’s Vanquish 440 is another excellent entry-level metal detector. As with the Vanquish 340, the 440 model features Minelab’s Multi-IQ technology. This will, again, allow the detector to operate on multiple frequencies simultaneously. The 440 has 5 search modes: Sensitivity: Instead of 4 levels, you’ve got in this one 10 levels … This will give you the possibility to be sensitive to even smaller targets. Minelab has been an industry leader in manufacturing metal detectors for nearly 4 decades. They make metal detectors that are built to combat the most difficult soil conditions. Their metal detectors are all built to the highest military standards and are trusted by military units all over the globe.

Both models are fantastic options for beginning detectorists. Now we need to compare the 2 so you can get a good idea of the difference in features on these metal detectors. The 340 has 3 search modes, while the 440 has 4. Both have automatic noise canceling and high iron bias. Neither model features Bluetooth connectivity, but both can use wired headphones. The Vanquish 340 features 4 sensitivity levels, while the Vanquish 440 features 10 sensitivity levels. Conductive Soil: If you are dealing with a ground rich in minerals and/or magnetic particles, Vanquish detectors won’t be able to deal 100% perfectly with it unless you’ve learnt your machine perfectly … On the other hand, Equinox detectors are designed to deal with mineralized soil properly! Iron bias settings allow some control over the target ID response. Low iron bias will allow a natural response from the detector, meaning the target is more likely to be classified as non-ferrous. High iron bias increases the likelihood that the target is classified as iron. So if you are not planning on Gold Prospection or underwater detection then any Vanquish model is probably enough … Otherwise, investing in an Equinox model is probably worth it! Reasons why you should opt for Minelab Products in general!

The most significant difference between NiMh and Li-ion is that you can discharge Li-ion to any level and charge it whenever you want. While it is recommended to charge NiMh right after you get it and then you should completely discharge it. Operational Impression: As with any machine, regardless of cost, there are always pros and cons. The pertinent question is, do the pros outweigh the cons? For the 440, the answer is definitely yes; pros far outweigh the cons! At that, the rivals on the market are very active and they continue designing new metal detectors. For example, Turkish Nokta Simplex can successfully compete with most of modern metal detectors for beginners. Fourthly, you get a bluetooth compatible machine that allows you to connect to the Minelab application. And fifthly, the system is rechargeable.

Many single frequency detectors also struggle to find gold, if the operate at a super low frequency. The Vanquish detectors multiple frequencies range from 5 kHz to 40 kHz. The higher kHz on these detectors makes finding gold, even small gold, easier. Any detector operating at 18 kHz or higher has the potential for finding gold (you can still find gold with detectors on a lower frequency, but the higher the frequency, the more small and fine gold you can find). Audio control has s10 channels of automatic noise canceling, 3 volume settings, and a lag-free audio response. It does not have adjustable iron bias, so this feature is preset high. Sensitivity is adjustable with 4 levels and target ID tones have low, medium, and high. Purpose: Evaluate the overall operational capability, sensitivity and stability of the Minelab Vanquish 440 metal detector under various test conditions. As always, I report findings and provide comments from strictly a user perspective--not that of a technical engineer. Detector settings were selected to optimize performance of the overall system under the specific test conditions and are detailed in the test data sheet.

What the New Vanquish Series Is About?

Large: 12*9 inches Double-D if you are looking for more space to cover while swinging and more depth … But this could be in detriment of sensitivity towards small sized items. Business reason: In the last decade Minelab used to introduce to the Market each 2 to 3 years a new series of machines in which they introduce new technologies and features (such us the aptX low latency, Muti-IQ, Iron Bias …) … Hopefully your videos will help others in the future. I wish I had seen it before yesterday. I'm still happy with my Vanquish. It's the cheap coins that are the issue. Waterproof, lightweight, and pretty functional, we would say this model of the series is very nice for beginner detectorists (mainly because it has pinpoint included!) Vanquish 540 What really sets the Vanquish 440 apart from other entry level metal detectors is the Multi-IQ technology. The Equinox 600 and 800 have the same Multi-IQ technology, but at a hugely increased price. The Simplex+ is a great model too, but only has a single frequency.
