Hisense has got off to a promising start in 2023, impressing (if not flat out wowing) us with its premium U8K and U7K Mini LED TVs. It still doesn’t look right, though; there’s too much green, skin colouring still doesn’t look natural, there’s more backlight clouding, and black levels look slightly greyer. The U8G also gets a bit brighter in SDR and has better reflection handling, so it does a better job at fighting glare in a bright room.

A signature is required, so if no-one is available they will leave a card to arrange a suitable time. There’s support for VRR too, including the AMD Freesync Premium format, as well as ALLM switching so the TV will always turn into its fast response Game mode when a game source is detected. Hisense positions the 55E7HQTUK as an entry-level QLED Quantum Dot TV, capable of reproducing ‘over one billion shades of colour. Or you may prefer to use the VIDAA control app - it duplicates the remote control’s functionality, has a page for apps (and plenty of them), and is clear and logical to use.In the olden days, we'd use a lead attached to plug that would carry power from a wall socket in to the device.

The exception is the TV's 75-inch size, which has an ADS Pro panel, giving it worse contrast and black uniformity than the other sizes, but with a wider viewing angle.

They’re responsive enough to adjust to sudden action or horror movie escalations too, and can go loud without becoming shrill, harsh or excessively coarse. The Hisense is a lot brighter, allowing it to better overcome glare in a bright room, and bright highlights in HDR stand out better.
