Description

The MagSafe technology keeps the charging coil perfectly aligned with the iPhone, guaranteeing maximum 15W charging speeds without wasting any power by not having things lined up correctly. This means it’s not only good for your iPhone but also great for the environment. It also works as a standard 7.5W Qi wireless charger for older iPhones and other Qi-compatible devices, so you can use it to juice up your AirPods Pro or even your friends’ Android smartphones. You'll also see the term "MagSafe", this is Apple's proprietary standard for wireless charging on iPhone 12 and 13 models. It works with the Qi-certified models and connects phones to chargers with magnets to get them aligned correctly every time, though this does mean older phones that don't have the magnet won't attach. Pad or stand? The slim and compact design of Apple’s MagSafe charger also lets you take it just about anywhere; plus, thanks to a vibrant community of inexpensive and creative third-party accessory makers, you can find many versatile mounting options, from desk stands to car mounts. Updated August 2023: We added chargers from Belkin, OtterBox, Xiaomi, Courant, and Nomad, removed some discontinued chargers, and updated prices.

Fast Charge mode: Using this extra wattage is called Fast Charge mode. However, the speed of this technology differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. The technology is still being refined, so expect Fast Charge to continue to improve over the next few years. I want the smallest charger. iOttie’s iON is an affordable charger that’s ideal for smaller spaces, with a design that’s both compact and attractive. There's no definitive evidence that it's harmful. You may worry the phone's battery might degrade faster with wireless charging, but manufacturers set safe limits for phone batteries, stipulating how much a battery can be charged and how far it can discharge. Regardless of the charging source you use, whether you plug into a wall adapter or use a wireless charging pad, these limits can’t be overridden. There’s no risk of overcharging your phone by leaving it on a wireless charger all night. If you have an iPhone to charge and an Apple Watch and AirPods, that’s where Belkin’s 3-in-1 Wireless MagSafe Charger comes in. It’s a single-piece unit that can meet all your charging needs with a design that won’t clutter your desk or bedside table. In terms of generic chargers, the fastest speed you'll get is the Qi standard of 7.5W. This isn't particularly speedy, but it'll work with any wirelessly chargeable smartphone, or other devices like wireless earbuds at slower speeds. Is 10W or 15W better for wireless charging?

A double wireless charging pad is a smart idea if you want to create a charging station in your home that’s free of tangled cords. Key considerations Watts: Charging speed is determined by the number of watts the two devices can support for wireless charging. More watts meanfaster charging. Most units are limited to 9 watts or less. Currently, the maximum provided by certain charging pads and phones is 15 watts, but this is not common. Some devices gain extra watts through firmware upgrades; for example, the Apple iPhone X went from a maximum 5of watts for wireless charging to 7.5 watts when iOS 11.2 was released.

You’ll appreciate having an indicator light on your double wireless charging pad. This light tells you that the coils in the devices and the pad are properly aligned so that charging can start. Without an indicator light, you may think the devices are charging when they aren’t. You could then have a dead battery just when you need your device most. Wire A. Because wireless charging requires a certain type of hardware, older phones cannot be upgraded. You must have a device that has wireless charging compatibility built into it. However, some companies make devices that plug into the USB port, through which you can wirelessly charge. Of course, this doesn’t eliminate the clutter of cords. Not all phones support wireless charging, but most brands have models that do, so look up your phone model first. You'll usually see "Qi wireless charging" (the default standard) or simply "wireless charging" if it does. Thanks to Qi wireless charging being a universal standard, an affordable Qi-certified charger will provide the same charging power to your iPhone or Android smartphone as a more expensive one.Opt for a charging pad with a temperature sensor. Some double wireless charging pads contain a sensor that shuts them down if they overheat. This will protect your mobile device from damage if the wireless pad were to short-circuit, for example. In my opinion, there are few accessories that are more convenient for your work desk than a compact charging station. In our review of the Anker 637, we found that it's an excellent way to keep all your devices (and I do mean ALL) plugged into one convenient power source. It will eliminate that pesky "chair wheels running over the power cord" debacle. This one is made even more convenient by the addition of a MagSafe wireless charging stand that holds up your iPhone at an easy-to-view angle as it charges. Even though all the double wireless charging pads use the same technology, there are a few things to consider regarding charging speed.

The most important thing to look for when shopping for the best wireless charger for your needs is whether it's compatible with your phone. If a wireless charger is Qi certified, it should support your iPhone, Samsung phone or other Android phone. But note that the wattage support will vary from charger to charger. Most chargers support 10W charging for Android phones and 7.5W charging for iPhones, although if they support Apple's MagSafe standard, then you can charge an iPhone 12, 13 or 14 at up to 15W instead. The Qi standard enables double wireless charging pads to work with many different mobile devices. As long as both the charging pad and the mobile device support Qi, they will work together for wireless charging. The Wireless Power Consortium manages the Qi standard.

Plan Benefits

Each pad offers up to 7.5W charging speeds to whatever you drop onto them, but thanks to Fast Charge 2.0 technology, you can juice up a compatible Samsung smartphone on the larger pad even faster—at speeds of up to 12W. While the smaller charging pad is specifically designed to accommodate Samsung's Gear Sport and Galaxy Watch smartwatches, it can also be used with any Qi-compatible device. Yootech’s two-coil design also means that it can handle different phone sizes. You can even use it to charge smaller Qi-enabled accessories like AirPods and Galaxy Buds, which is rare in an upright wireless charger. It also lets you lay some smartphones sideways across the charger, making it an excellent stand for watching your favorite YouTube clips. This charger still works great with other smartphones, you just won't be able to access many of those Pixel features. The biggest downside? Charging only works in portrait orientation. Oh, and it's definitely overpriced. The good news is the first-gen Pixel Stand is still available for much less; you can recharge your phone in landscape and portrait orientation, and I daresay it looks more interesting. There are two small issues I found with this charger. First, the integrated USB-A cable, although braided for durability, looks cheap compared to the rest of the pad, and is only 90cm (3 feet) long, making the places where I could put the charger limited by how close my power outlets were. Plus, the charger is only capable of 10W output, which while available with any compatible device, is a bit slow. Which company's wireless charger is best? One of the best advantages of this charger is that you can fold it in half. This feature makes it easy to carry around, especially if you are often on the road. The charging power is a tad less, considering it’s a MagSafe charger.
