Bought a small 50ml 2023 batch... smells almost the same as 20 years ago... masculine and indeed a little bit of urine-cake smell... On the way out, at least for me there is no Pineapple, but the Orange Blossom and I feel a sumptuous Neroli too. I also feel a citrus touch that, mixed with those other notes there, reminds me of the scent of shopping mall cleaning products! I am 27 years old. Neither my dad nor anyone else in my family has ever worn Kouros as far as I know. I have never smelled this fragrance or any other like it on another person. I genuinely don't understand descriptions like "animalic", "urinal", "toilet" or even "dirty" in relation to this fragrance today. I would agree that these are all things that described what this fragrance once was. It was utterly magnificent, unashamed filth that overcame your best intentions, disregarded your pathetic attempts to be a polite member of a civilised society and made you want more....even though you knew it was wrong. Must admit it made me gag the first time i sprayed it on my hand but maybe it was from autosuggestion on my part.

He is Kouros. A masterful combination of natural civet, castoreum, costus root, Animalis base from Synarôme (later used in Montana’s eponymous first creation and falling out of style by the late 80’s), leather, honey, musk, geranium, artemisia, jasmine, patchouli, and many more that combine in true artistry to create something bigger than the sum of its parts. There is nothing like Kouros. I used to even spray it on my pillow so I could smell it all night long. I love how YSL skilfully marries vanilla with… dirt. Believe it or not, Kouros still holds up its high-price event after so many years which just confirms that some things are timeless and meant to stay. Value for money is average(current formulation). Pros and ConsIf you are well accustomed to the original King Kouros, you may feel, for sure, a bit underwhelmed- as it is not the monster fragrance it was. For practical reasons however, it is better placed to hedge the every day (in)formal settings, retaining, in the current translation, a substantial part of the original message. What is more amazing is that from the first spray to the end of the day drydown is that it assumes different olfatic sensations with different notes coming up. Of course, they all resemble the "Fraicheur" concept so you could identify that what you´re smelling is Kouros Fraicheur in a second. Some of the notes ( perhaps the drydown ) I would bet that i´ve smelled them somewhere. Eventually there will be another fragrance out there that will "match" Kouros Fraicheur at some point of it´s drydown process. But not entirely as KF is unique. This is an extract of that, it's indistinguishable for me. Just an old, cheap soap smell, or alternatively urinal cakes if you like. Tried this the first time (current formula) and all i get is clean musky soap... not animalic whatsoever , if you say this smells like a bathroom floor in the mall from 2000.... i kinda get that but you'll need to have a very wild mind bcs this scent is too clean for that image to conjure

I´ve recently bought new bottle (white framing) and it is considerably weaker than the another white-framing one which I already own for some time (both are weaker than the one with silver framing). Sharp aldehydes, artemisia, and clary sage create a soapy top. Under this is a tumult of leather, honey, civet, and patchouli which feels completely alive. This is of course all supported by oakmoss, vetiver, orris, and musks as far as the eye can see.To no surprise, I have never received a compliment or a comment when I wore this scent. But hey, that’s quite understandable. You wear “ The Scent of Gods” for yourself, don’t you? I love this! Just received a bottle today (of the aftershave splash) smells like a more fresh, green version of original kouros with more lavender! If the aftershave is this good I can’t wait to get my hands on the eau de toilette, hopefully soon as I want to wear it this summer! For an aftershave has quite strong sillage also This is the shit you smelled like 24/7, and didn't even put any on. It is the essence of the mid-late 60's thru early-mid 80's generation of kids who were forced to drink from the waterhose, be in by street lights, and forced to go straight to the shower because you smelled like a rhinoceros Kouros has seen many flankers through the years with most of them now discontinued. Summer, Cologne, and Fresh versions have bitten the dust, so here are those still easily available ones:

Yves Saint Laurent was founded by Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent , his business partner, and his partner, Pierre Bergé in 1961. Fraicheur still has that blast of civet and dna of original. As I liked both in the day, Fraicheur is still very nice and wearable today, on occasion for old times sake. This scent is a love it or hate it without a doubt. I've read someone here mentioning that there's a 2013 formulation that's pretty decent compared to the one that's being made now. I think I need to hunt that one down. I have 1/4 of original stuff in the silver winged bottle and a splash in the silver winged bottle as well. I don't want to use up those vintage bottles. Kouros and Fahrenheit in the 90s are probably Y EDP and Sauvage EDT in the present day. All of them are the shit in their times. I have asked a few friends/family what their thoughts were on this. Unfortunately none of them enjoyed it. The most common description from the ladies was “smells like a grandpa.”The bottle itself doesn’t have a removable cap which means that what you have is the built-in sprayer. The atomizer sprays wide and nicely, without spraying too much. On the top of the atomizer, you’ll find the Ysl logo. Supposed to smell like bedsheets after rough anal sex, my bedsheets smell nothing like this unfortunately!
