It also comes with the excellent body and fingerboard binding with a cream plastic. The beautiful colors give it the upgraded look without scrimping on its durability. Regardless of how long you play it for, it will stay in tune and provide the excellent tones.

It’s not worth really comparing this guitar to some of the higher end Yamahas, because that is not what this guitar is for. Beginners really should just determine which sound they like best when shopping around.

For your consideration

This analysis led to the development of the new scalloped bracing pattern, a new and ideal acoustic structure that maintains the durability of the top board while bringing out the most sound the Yamaha FG has to offer. 50 Years of History

While this might be billed as an affordable guitar, it certainly does not look like something that is fairly inexpensive. It is a very classic looking guitar that has a traditional design made famous by the FG series. The glossy finish and the natural overall colors on the guitar really bring it altogether. One modification that can be made is upgrading the bridge pins to brass. This can enhance the sustain and resonance of the guitar, resulting in a richer and more vibrant tone. I just came from my local music store having had the chance to play the new FG-830 and the new FG-800. The new scalloped bracing design has made a significant improvement in what was already an excellent instrument. The bass response from these 2 guitars is truly remarkable. And that was with the crappy factory strings Yamaha puts on them going out the door. Of the two I played, I preferred the 830, but have to say the strings on the 830 were in better shape than those on the 800. Last but not the least, you get the excellent value with the Yamaha FG820. It comes at a price range of beginner guitars but with its fantastic specs, you receive more compared to models and brands of the similar cost.

Let’s take a look at the three most crucial elements I believe you should be searching for when purchasing your next guitar. Laminate VS Solid Top

FG800 Series

A new FG has louder and stronger sound in the low- to mid-ranges, thanks to cutting-edge acoustic analysis technology developed by the Yamaha R&D Division. When playing with the FG820, expect the warm sound that makes it ideal for the country and blues. It has the authentic sound that never changed throughout time, with Yamaha focusing on quality in all aspects. Upgrading with modifications: Some players have found that upgrading certain components, such as brass bridge pins and a real bone saddle, can further enhance the FG820's performance. An acoustic guitar can sometimes be a little bit hard to hear, especially when it comes to cheaper models. The rich tones have really good projection overall, which is positive for someone trying to learn guitar for the first time. They will be able to hear exactly what they are playing. It also helps for those people who are performing with the guitar. The sound is going to come through instead of getting drowned out.

One of the best selling lines of acoustic guitars in the world now looks and sounds even better! For over 40 years, millions of musicians have used the Yamaha FG as the perfect tool to express their music. FGs gained the respect due to thet quality, dependability, playability and value. Because laminated wood is composed of many planks or layers bonded together with glue, it does not vibrate in the same way solid wood does. Glued planks don’t move together as solid wood does, so they struggle against the strings. The sound is monotonous, inharmonic, and rapid decay as a result of this. The acoustic guitar has a very warm sound overall, and it probably does best playing country songs and the blues. Other types of songs can be played as well, but the sound really comes through in those genres. Value: The FG820 offers great value for its price, providing a professional-quality instrument at an affordable cost. The new FG range from Yamaha manage to deliver premium acoustic guitar feel with a very low price tag. The FG820-12 is a superb 12 string guitar that allows players to take their first steps into the reqarding world of 12-string guitars without having to spend more money. The 12-string guitar is a master at creating a rich sound owing to ‘paired’ strings that are tuned an octave apart.

Oh no! Why did I get blocked?

Speaking of the strings, this is about the only part of the guitar that is a minor disappointment. They aren’t terrible strings, but they certainly could be better when looking at the quality of the rest of the guitar. Yes, they can always be replaced, but it is a bit of a nuisance when buying a brand-new guitar. Beginners might not notice that much, but those who are a little bit more skilled might be able to tell. The woods that are used, Sitka Spruce, Mahogany, and Rosewood, are all of extremely high quality. These woods do not wear out anytime soon. It would be safe to say that this guitar would last for ages. In fact, the sound and playing keep getting better with time. Moreover, the guitar also has a gloss finish over woods, which further keeps them safe and increases their life. Two, the crème binding on fingerboard adds some more years to the guitar. It is often assumed that durability and longer life comes only with higher prices. That, evidently, is not true for Yamaha’s FG820. Sound quality
