Description

Ransom Riggs’s newest installment to the Miss Peregrine’s universe is stunning. Miss Peregrine’s Museum of Wonders is a magnificent addition to the vibrant, peculiar world, a.k.a. Peculiardom, that Riggs has created. Through chapters written by the (co-)Headbird herself, Miss Peregrine, we are captivated by a guidebook on peculiar abilities, peculiar animals, peculiar plants, peculiar loops, surviving as a Peculiar, and more. This incredibly immersive book, coupled with inserts from other Peculiars we’ve come to love and annotations from Miss Peregrine to Jacob, beautifully adds to the chaotic world we’ve grown to adore since 2011.

A guidebook to the peculiar world for fledgling members, with notes about the variety of peculiar abilities, techniques for blending in with normals, and other helpful features. A gloriously rich and utterly delightful handbook perfect for longtime fans and new readers alike, covering everything from how to blend in with suspicious normals to the most popular time loops to visit as a temporal tourist. This essential volume is the ideal primer for anyone curious about the world of Miss Peregrine: an overview of its strange history, curious practices, fascinating places, the most famous (and infamous) members of its peculiar families, and much more. The entire series of Miss Peregrine’s, all in all, is brilliant! I highly recommend this series to fans of the Harry Potter books, as it is another incredible saga of magical children fighting evil while finding a new family to call home. There was a time when all we had to worry about was being burned at the stake. It was a simpler world then. My Book Notes

Are some of the most useful phrases from Old Peculiar I've ever heard and should totally be adopted and have an equivalent in modern language PDF / EPUB File Name: Miss_Peregrines_Museum_of_Wonders_-_Ransom_Riggs.pdf, Miss_Peregrines_Museum_of_Wonders_-_Ransom_Riggs.epub I read the first three books in Miss Peregrine's a long time ago and was absolutely in love with them, but the second trilogy didn't feel the same for me. However, the add-on books (peculiar Tales and this book) that have come out in recent years have been pretty fun. I always love when a series releases a sort of guide to the world and some parts of it, so this was perfect for me. I love a good guidebook as much as anyone who’s as obsessed with world building as I am, and this one was really fun! I’d only recommend for diehard fans of the Peculiar Children series, and probably wouldn’t have gone out of my way to read it myself if I hadn’t happened upon it at the library while grabbing the other books. But I loved reading the lore and information about the world simply because I love world building, and the structure of this one made it especially entertaining. The addition of Miss Peregrine’s comments and notes to Jacob made it tie in with the series in a fun way, so I’m glad I read it immediately after finishing the series. Gloriously rich and utterly delightful, Miss Peregrine’s Museum of Wonders is an indispensable guide to the peculiar world, perfect for longtime fans and new listeners alike. I have been an immense fan of the Miss Peregrine’s series for many years now. The books have always served as an escape when I was struggling. Riggs’s ability to put the reader in the story, the brilliant plot, and the writing, as well as the incorporation of genuine old photographs, has made this my favorite series. I was incredibly excited when this book was announced, and I am so grateful that I can review it! Also, yes, I know I volunteer on MuggleNet (obviously), which is for Harry Potter (obviously x2), but that doesn’t change the fact that this is my favorite series! The anxiety of enjoying a song while worrying that the other people listening are not enjoying it as much as you are) Read by Jayne Entwistle, Kirby Heyborne, Nicholas Guy Smith, Ransom Riggs, Christopher Gebauer, Joe Jameson, Bruce Mann, Arthur Morey, Cassandra Morris and Bahni Turpin Ransom Riggs compiles unique stories and peculiar events as a handbook for new peculiars, and a companion to Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children series. Alma LeFay Peregrin starts her guide of wonders to help peculiar children survive in an “unfriendly world” by focusing on the proudly particular, and the “terrifying and terrible.” Filled with plenty of references to Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, some more world building information, and a few new interesting tidbits.Thank you to Penguin Young Readers Group & Dutton Books for Young Readers l for the arc through netgalley in exchange for an honest review! Summary: A deluxe companion guide to the #1 bestselling Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series. Everything you need to know about the peculiar world, written by Miss Peregrine herself. Written in Miss Peregrine’s inimitable style, it’s also a dramatic expansion of the universe fans have already come to love, introducing countless new peculiars, enemies, time loops, stories, and secrets, in addition to hundreds of never-before-seen vintage found photographs and select illustrations. Clues to Abe’s double-life as a peculiar operative start to emerge, secrets long hidden in plain sight. And Jacob begins to learn about the dangerous legacy he has inherited—truths that were part of him long before he walked into Miss Peregrine’s time loop.

My favorite part of the story was the short story about Gloria H. The story was depressing yet captivating and I would’ve loved it if there was a full novel dedicated to Gloria’s romance. The peculiar world is so vast and complex that I could easily imagine Ransom Riggs writing peculiar short story collections in the future that revolve around characters like Gloria. The victory of Jacob and his fellow peculiars over the previous episode’s wights and hollowgasts turns out to be only one move in a larger game as Riggs ( Tales of the Peculiar, 2016, etc.) shifts the scene to America.
