Anyone can get a party started, but no one keeps it going like Fat Tony, the energy never dips and what a life he's lived. Whether you're looking for some textbooks for university, the latest biography or a travel guide - you'll find what you need in our categories. Biography: Tony Marnoch (Author) Fat Tony - real name Tony Marnoch - is the 16-years sober DJ who first found fame on the London social scene in the 1980s as a DJ, best mate of Boy George, and any other name you might want to mention from the time. I was really interested in reading this book as dance culture was a big part of my life when younger. From his childhood on an estate in Battersea where he honed his petty criminality, was abused by an older man and made friends with Boy George, to his teenage years spent parading the Kings Road in his latest (stolen) clobber, working as a receptionist for a prostitute, hanging out with Leigh Bowery and Sue Tilley and creating his drag persona, to his life as DJ to the stars and his spiral into serious drug addiction.

Fat Paul was always considered a bit of a plonker on that scene and it's reassuring to read that that's still the case. I'm glad he took such time to elaborate on those years of debauchery, to highlight just how far he had sunk. The latter is unquestionably an honest, glamorous and wild ride of a book but there’s something about “I Don’t Take Requests” that really gets to you.A messy drug affair led to a spell in rehab, and he has since enjoyed a renaissance in life, becoming one of fashion's favourite acts as Vogue's resident DJ, and Donatella Versace and Victoria Beckham's go-to party guy. I admire his bravery in writing such an unvarnished memoir and not hiding or minimizing events in which he was less than kind. It’s definitely an entertaining read, and for anyone interested is a history of the London gay-club scene through the 80s, 90s, and 00s. This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees. Even though the purchase didn’t go quite as planned the communication was great and dealt with in a very professional manner.

I've read books before where the author comes across as unlikeable, but that's always been unintentional. He spent his teenage years parading the Kings Road in his latest (mostly stolen) clobber, worked as a receptionist at a brothel, hung out with Leigh Bowery and Andy Warhol, and created his drag persona, before becoming DJ to the stars (including Prince and Madonna) and spiralling into a life-threatening drug addiction. His tales of London nightlife back in the day and battling his addictions are addictive to listen to and keep you wanting more.Loves long walks along the beach, holding hands and romantic 80's power ballads, partial to electronic music and likes to make the odd mix or two. It's the sort of book you can read in the lavatory very quickly, pick up and put down, and then flush away. I Don't Take Requests is Fat Tony's breathtakingly candid and outrageous memoir of a life of extremes.
