My speakers are TOTEM Sttaf with an average output of 88 Db, but I have no problem of power, in my living room which is of modest size it is true. But in this case I think the Mundorf Supreme SGO are in a similar size range to those being used - just better quality. I haven't tested headphone listening yet because I rarely use it and my headphones are modest. It's an AKG K701. I'll do a review on this point here. Guitar amps have been around for roughly 70 years now, having first appeared during the 1930s. The earliest amps had very poor high treble and bass responses. This was improved over time, as amps became better developed. During the ‘60s, the guitar amp greatly evolved to where it is today when guitarists of that era experimented with deliberately overloading their amp to create Distortion. From that point on, most amps were provided with preamp distortion controls. Playing with distortion has since become an important part of Electric guitar playing the Chinese CV181 (Shuguang / Psvane) is a 6SN7 with a CV181 look ... Same heating current, same gain and oval plates."

I look forward to your listening impressions with considerable interest. Given your posted experience with other amplifiers. I believe that you are certainly able to separate the wheat from the chaff (Both sonically and judging build quality). I love this amp not for it’s pinpoint imaging, detail retrieval or fast as lightning incisiveness. It doesn’t focus on those things as some big money audiophile amps do.

It is possible that the preamplifier section of your Willsenton is passive rather than active. The 5U4G is the rectifier tube. The 6SN7 or the 6SL7 is the diver tube for the 300b power output tube.

Well, it seems that this principle is applicable to the Muzishare and Willsenton amplifiers. Good solid design with decent but not the best quality parts due to cost restraints. So very good candidates for upgrading part quality to achieve better sound. I believe that your project will turn out fine. Finally, the power cable is a FURUTECH FP-TCS31. The NEOTECH and the FURUTECH were assembled by me, nothing very complicated but we obtain an excellent listening level for much less expensive than their fully assembled equivalents. Steve. Great review. I have a man cave/shop that’s 30×40. It has a 42” wall that petitions a 10×12 man cave area. Would the 300b driving 92db speakers reasonably fill up the 10×12 area? I mostly listen to jazz. Thanks for your help! I bought my 2nd 300b from him and I love it. Then I bought 2 more amps from him. You could see and hear the amps in my profile.

AMTAST Stereo Hybrid Tube Amplifier Hybrid Tube Amplifier Modern Amp Design with Vintage Makeover AMT50 I had read that on another forum but it seems that Willsenton manufactures its amps in the same factory as Cayin. There are many similarities. But there are also differences. We see definitely more components in Cayin and maybe, some higher end components. The Cayin is also 6 pounds heavier, probably with slightly larger transformers. I don't want to seem like I am dismissing the 300b integrated in question here. I am sure it is very good value and would have a pleasing sound. As we have discussed, it can no doubt be improved with better signal path parts. It will have a limit due to the circuit and power supply design, but could still sound quite good. Just not superb. It simply cannot go to that level because of the basic design, and that is just fine because that was not what it was intended to do. The 300b project I am doing with Lynn is an attempt to make a state of the art amp, so not really the same design goal:) Build the best amp you can, and then figure out what it has to sell for. There is no price point target. Can't speak to the Willsenton R300, however the R8 Willsenton's volume control is inoperative when used as just an amplifier.

Concerning the 6SL7 tubes, after listening and still to keep this sweetness, I prefer the TAD NOS 6SL7 tubes to the LINLAI E-6SL7 tubes, too analytical for me. Agree with every point that you made. However only so much can be accomplished for a given price target. I have no doubt that your 300b is superior in numerous ways, but no way could it sell for only1500.00 USD either. The sound is described by some as “romantic” because of this big sound that is welcoming, warm and with 3D qualities. I have no doubt that your 300b amplifier will be a fantastic product. Best wishes to you. The 300b properly implemented is superb sounding. I wanted to ask you a neophyte question. Does the sound from the headphone output come directly from the tubes?I also had to replace the RCA Van Den Hul The Frist Ultimate modulation cables, by a NEOTECH NEI-3001 MKIII that I associated with RCA KLEI Harmony connectors. Well, I will not extend anything more, just thank you again for your intervention in my hours of enjoyment. By the way, I would tell those who really love tube rolling to give those who wear Willsenton an option. It’s worth waiting a bit before getting involved with new ones. But as always that is a matter of taste. The amplifier circuit, if perfect, does nothing more than regulate the power supply. If the power supply has poor phase and impedance, it passed on to the next component. Sequential components alter the preceding and this is why a really great component may get so-so response in one reviewer's system and sterling accolades in another. There is uncertainty about the best impedance set up for speakers. We are running 6ohm electrlstatic speakers on the 8ohm out. This a great tube amp. I wish there was more engineering data.
