If the water gets shallow at times, you can also mount only the smaller side fins on the Bluefin Cruise boards for a short time and thus reduce the draft to a maximum. The materials are consistently designed for robustness and durability and very high quality workmanship. Design The Bluefin offers a kayak conversion kit and it costs less than the Atoll. It also has a five-year warranty while the Atoll has a two-year warranty. If you are a nervous beginner, weigh over 90kgs or want a board that glides nicely, then it’s probably worth getting the 12’. The total weight of the set is around 55 lbs, this is completely understandable given the dimensions and the material, but it also represents a major challenge for many users in terms of handling. With its dimensions of 15′ x 36″ x 6″, the board is perfect for use by 2 people (possibly even more). The width surpasses even allrounder boards by lengths and offers a very high tipping stability. This board is all-around so it is suitable for basically every activity you are looking for on a Stand Up Paddle board. The board could be used for a maximum weight of 287 lbs / 130 kg, for the new version this has been updated to 150 kg / 331 lbs. But I honestly think that is underestimated and you could surely get on this board with two people that have my weight (about 80 kg).The paddle that is included with the Bluefin Cruise is a Bluefin 4-Piece adjustable and convertible paddle, which is lightweight and very strong and durable because it is made out of fiberglass. It can not only be used as a SUP paddle, but also as a kayak paddle. Which is perfect together with the supplied kayak seat. You can find out more about the exact effects of the different variants later in the section “Areas of Application and Driving Characteristics”. Since we have known the Bluefin Cruise Boards inside out for a long time, we would like to provide you with a brief summary of changes to the current series in this section. Due to the high-quality material properties and the 2-layer construction, the Bluefin Cruise Boards generally achieve a very high degree of stiffness in every version.Accessories: new board bag, new pump, new paddle…but unfortunately the 2nd paddle blade and a kayak seat are no longer part of the standard delivery! Another and maybe even the most important innovation concerns the construction of the boards. Bluefin now relies on the innovative welded fusion process (MSL), which completely preserves the known stiffness, but makes the boards much lighter! I’m 85kg and 6’2ish and found the 10’8 easy to use. The 10’8, which is the length of the board, is the classic beginner size because it’s stable enough for most beginners, but manoeuvrable so you can practice turning with ease.

A design feature of any board that helps with stability is the width, especially across the midpoint of the board where you stand. A wider board will feel more stable than a narrower board.This of course changes if you want to get into SUP surfing, then you’ll want a board that is small and very manoeuvrable, which means it won’t glide at all well. The Bluefin Cruise is available as a standard version in 4 sizes (Junior 8′, 10’8″, 12′, 15′ Tandem), while the Bluefin Cruise Carbon range is limited to 3 models (10’8″, 12′, 15′ Tandem). Since this is another point where the two variants differ from each other, I have directly compared the individual features using the 10’8″ size as an example.

When on the water I thought the paddle flexed quite a lot, so if you’re a powerful paddler, you might want to upgrade to a stiffer paddle. The Bluefin Cruise comes with a switchable double-stroke air pump with pressure indicator (manometer) and only one piston. With dimensions of 325 cm (10.8′) in length and 83.5 (33″) cm in width, the Bluefin Cruise 10’8 corresponds to the typical all-rounder. The Bluefin Cruise 12, on the other hand, is a touring board that measures 366 cm x 83 cm (12′ x 32″). The two independent air chambers of the carbon series have the advantage that the stiffness is even better. The side surfaces (rails) are somewhat simpler, monochromatic and labeled with the details of the manufacturer and the model. The treads are enhanced by a design banderole with Bluefin Cruise lettering and logo. The geometric patterns and slashes of the top are echoed in the side areas in partially complementary colors.

The distribution of the weight also plays an important role, because with a single paddler the load always acts much more punctually on the construction than with 2 people or with a dog.
