Description

It’s satisfying to say, three stadiums into this collection, that the way you think building 10299 Real Madrid – Santiago Bernabéu Stadium will go is probably not the way it will actually go. It’s these unusual and unexpected ways of putting together the stadium that also have a way of drawing you in further to understand exactly what detail you’ve just added – because of the risk of an otherwise formulaic, cookie-cutter build experience, 10299 Real Madrid – Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is smart in ways other LEGO sets don’t have to be, and it’s all the better for it. Would be nice to a Brazilian stadium someday, but unlikely to happen. Regarding their appeal, as some people are questioning why a third stadium set, I see the same from the Architecture sets. If it were for me, I would even more future similar releases to that theme.

There are so many great design flourishes, and Milan was undoubtedly aided by the architecture of the stadium itself, but he managed to solve some really ingenious problems through clever LEGO engineering and techniques. The white roof is removable, and the technique used is quite clever – it doesn’t attach to any studs, and is just nested there on the inside of the grey rim, making it quite easy to lift up and remove. LEGO's new 5,876 piece set, which is 6 inches tall and 18 inches wide when assembled, is a tribute to the stadium's classic design, including its imposing concrete facade and four famous corner towers. Buy if you’re a Real Madrid fan, or if you appreciate large-scale LEGO builds, and stadium architecture. Do not buy for Atletico Madrid, or Barcelona fans. It would make an excellent splurge, or extravagant gift for the Real Madrid fan in your life. It looks amazing, and better than the Camp Nou set. At least it is a stadium from a club that isn't going through a terrible phase lately like United and Barça. On other hand, there's some bad timing here, since the Bernabéu is under renoavation and it is going to look very different in two years or so. Bernabéu captained Real Madrid in the 1920s before a brief stint as manager, and then his most important role as club president for 35 years, which he held until his death in 1978. Bernabéu is heralded as one of Madrid’s most influential people in the club’s history, overseeing its restructure with methods that would inform and influence modern club football across the game – and that included construction of the stadium that is named after him.

The LEGO® Real Madrid – Santiago Bernabéu Stadium][1set coincides with the club’s 120th anniversary and the 75th anniversary of the iconic grounds. The impressive set features over 5,800 pieces and has been designed to be the ultimate display piece for Real Madrid C.F. and LEGO fans — and to symbolise the spectacular pride felt by fans watching a match take place at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.Zooming in on some of the details, the 1×1 peaked roof tiles and transparent blue cheese slopes do an effective job of conveying the separation between stadium tiers and the luxury box suites. The “Real Madrid” logos feel a bit repetitive, but are authentic to the real stadium. You build the Bernabeu in quadrants, ending with the roof, before connecting them all together with the use of Technic axels to keep them each half in place. A very cool detail I loved – above the technical area is the VIP boxes where the rich and privileged hobnob and enjoy prawn coctails and other delicacies, away from the unwashed masses. Ahead of its release on 1 March 2022, here’s a review of 10299 Real Madrid Santiago Bernabeu Stadium to help you decide if this set is right for you. The pillars that curve inwards are particularly pleasing to the eye, as is the very liberal use of curved slopes and collumns throughout the entrance. The use of colour is fantastic as well, with trans-light blue being used for glass windows to break up the otherwise stoic looking tan columns and pillars.
