No, not every Maxi-Cosi ISOFIX base fits every Maxi-Cosi car seat. There are different ISOFIX bases for different car seats, however there are some Maxi-Cosi ISOFIX bases that fit more car seats than others, such as the FamilyFix2 and FamilyFix3, which fit several Maxi-Cosi car seats. To work out which ISOFIX base you need to fit your Maxi-Cosi car seat, view our helpful infographic above. The best place to fit your newborn car seat is the rear middle seat of your car. The next best place to install your newborn car seat/infant carrier is behind the passenger; this can be done if the middle seat doesn’t have ISOFIX anchors or a three-point seat belt for fixing the car seat in place. We don’t recommend it, but if you need to install the baby car seat in the front passenger seat, be sure to always deactivate the passenger airbag before doing so. Removing an ISOFIX base varies depending on which base you have, but it usually involves pressing a button and disconnecting the base from the ISOFIX anchorage points. The base's user manual will usually contain a section that guides you through the installation and removal process so you can ensure you complete these steps safely and correctly.
