I was very happy with the Moza r5 which is super little direct drive wheel with great build quality. Manufactured with high-strength steel to provide rock-solid durability and fitted with precise Hall sensors to give you fine control over your footwork when driving, ensuring maximum consistency and performance.

The GS and CS wheels we have here at Traxion HQ don’t speak to the base, and therefore the software. Our recommendation for people making the jump to a full sim racing setup is to begin with our Classic Steering Wheel Stand or Apex Steering Wheel Stand as these are compact and functional and can be upgraded to a full racing cockpit down the line. The R9 base caught a lot of PC sim racer’s attention, and its ever-growing selection of rims and pedals are tempting more drivers each and every day. A - The MOZA R5 wheel base can be used with a table clamp for those of you still having to use desk mounted equipment. The high-quality equipment is easy to install and is packed with features to allow you to tailor your racing setup to your needs.A - The Moza R5 wheel base is currently not able to be used with consoles such as the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S.

Compatibility across sims varies quite a bit so I cannot say with certainty that these dash layouts will satisfy your needs.

The R5 could be mounted using all four threads thanks to its mounting plate, whereas the Wheel Stand 2.

This allows sim racers who maybe don’t have a wheel stand or full sim rig setup, to quickly attach this wheel base to your desk, or a table and start racing. There are no rotary encoders to be found and the layout looks similar to a lot of basic console compatible steering wheels.

Truth is, we did have a unit to review pre-embargo, but once we’d got everything set up and ready to rock and roll, the base didn’t recognise the wheel, nor the pedals at first.

Our anti-slip pad ensures that even if you do not have a full rig, you can still enjoy high-quality pedals! The GS does also feel really good but the extra diameter (300mm) gives you slightly less crisp force feedback.Finally, the CM dash is a revelation compared to the RM dash that I refused to review in the past due to quality issues. The brake is not heavy enough for you to accidentally move the Pedals away from you and the grips on the bottom were sufficient for the short time I used them on my desk setup. The MOZA Pit House control center allows a racer to check the status of a device, adjust settings, and load presets. On the rear of the MOZA R5 wheel you have a set of connectivity ports, although these differ slightly from the ports on the R9.
