Froggy Goes To Bed” is a sweet storybook that I got recently at a local charity shop. I see that this series of “ Froggy” books came out in 1992 and continued until 2011. Mine is the eighth, published in 2000 and I really enjoyed it, granting it four stars. The story is so brief that I will refer to little of it and discuss more of the artwork. Although he sounds Polish, I see that illustrator Frank Remkiewicz is a Florida resident and the author is a Californian, Jonathan London. He is said to be a nature-lover whose aim is for his literature to honour it. His series seems to parallel our Canadian “Franklin” turtle, who also emerged in the 1990s. Anyway. For being so tired, Froggy doesn't seem like he's going to bed anytime soon. He has enough energy to yell and hop everywhere on some goose chase for his bedtime preparation objects. Forgive me, but I always assumed that the sole purpose of brushing your teeth was to clean out your mouth and remove the digestive chemicals and sugars that are lodged in your teeth and whatnot by the help of a toothbrush. Correct me if I'm wrong. Froggy's toothbrush is in the cookie jar.....this kinda defeats the entire purpose of brushing his gums or teeth, whatever. It would seem to me that the toothbrush would have already taken on a bunch of sugar like household furniture takes on dust. Therefore, it would now be pointless for Froggy to brush before bedtime. Also, I don't find Froggy's toothbrush in the cookie jar to be in the least bit sanitary. I am quite certain that Froggy's family planned on eating them sometime in the future. However, considering they are now covered in Froggy's SALIVA, I don't see this happening.
