Once we remove that folded sectional we’re left with a plethora of red and gold Star Trek content, with some additional goodies in the middle! What’s so nice about this set is that the option to break it up once opened, place the Blu-rays in your Blu-ray entertainment area, the book on your shelf or desk, and everything else where it’ll be used is there. You don’t have to keep the box. It’s a nice box, but it really is just a box. I noticed that the sides of the front of mine were easily scuffed when transporting the set from one location to another. While this is nothing new it’s still a welcome addition to collections of this size, as it really does make hunting down particular episodes or arcs much easier. And later this year “ Star Trek” fans will get yet another treat, the Star Trek: The Picard Legacy Collection. It is a limited edition, individually numbered, 54-disc Blu-ray set that contains every series and film featuring Jean-Luc Picard. The set includes includes: Beyond all of the episodes and movies, the biggest draw of this Star Trek boxed set is the extensive collection of special features. For example, it includes a special exclusive version of The Wisdom of Picard, a book that contains various inspirational quotes from this very inspirational captain. The set also includes playing cards, a Picard-centric magnet sheet, and (despite the funny running joke that very few people actually like Picard’s wine) Chateau Picard drink coasters. The final season of Star Trek: Picard will be headed to home media this fall, as the last year of Admiral Picard’s adventure has been slated for a September release.
