Description

Flight Time was measured with Mavic 3 Pro flying at a constant speed of 32.4 kph in a windless environment at sea level until the battery level reached 0%. Data is for reference only. Please pay attention to RTH reminders in the DJI Fly app during your flight. The Mavic 3 series has 2 obstacle avoidance sensors on the bottom of the drone plus auxiliary lights to aid in landing during low-light situations. Sensors are for noobs and more likely to get you into trouble thinking they are going to get you out of trouble, easier to stay out of it.

All three cameras of the Mavic 3 Pro Series drones support shooting 4K/60fps video, and all three cameras of the Cine version support Apple ProRes 422/422 HQ/422 LT codecs. No matter which version you choose, you will enjoy high-level professional creation. Outside the cover, the drone looks much more like the Air 2S; the legs are thinner and the vision sensors placed diagonally on the corners rather than glaring forward like those on the Mavic 2. The top and rear side vents offer a slightly aggressive posture though the spindly legs offset that.

The DJI RC - which was released with the DJI Mini 3 Pro - features a 390g lightweight body, 5.5-inch FHD display, ultra-long 4-hour operating time, and supports DJI O3+ video transmission. Measured in an outdoor, open environment, without interference, and with FCC compliance. The above data shows the farthest communication range for one-way, non-return flights. Please pay attention to RTH reminders in the DJI Fly app during your flight. The Four Thirds sensor also boasts 12.8 stops of native dynamic range. This retains more details in the shadows and highlights, making your work look more professional. With the increase in sensor size, you also get better low-light performance, more detail and improved control over depth of field. Essentially, you get an all-around better image.

Mavic videographers no longer have to choose between the pro model and the zoom model. That’s because, in addition to the main 20 MP wide-angle Hasselblad camera, there’s also a 12 MP telephoto camera with a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor. The telephoto camera is a nifty tool to capture far-away subjects or keep your drone a safe distance from hazardous objects; however, you lose the ability to adjust camera settings manually when using the telephoto camera. The telephoto camera also only shoots in JPEG, so no RAW. Then there’s the fact that the quality of the image also gets soft and fuzzy since the zoom is all digital. Plus, even with the Cine model, ProRes is unavailable with the zoom lens. But what we really don’t understand is why you can’t shoot in D-log when using the telephoto lens. The Mavic 3 series uses the DJI Fly app, which also powers the Mavic Mini, Mini 2, Mavic Air 2, and Air 2S. First introduced in November 2019 with the Mavic Mini, the pared down, intuitive interface showcases all the photo modes on the same screen. When switching out of Auto mode and into Manual, or Pro mode, the bottom-right-hand corner gives you sliders that allow you to adjust white balance, ISO, shutter speed, aperture and choose JPEG or Raw+JPEG imagery. Resolution can be adjusted once the 'Video' option is activated. DJI O3+ is an upgraded transmission system that delivers stable, smooth, and clear video transmission even under challenging conditions, such as flying a drone in an environment with strong signal interference. With a maximum control range of 15km, [5] O3+ enables Mavic 3 to fly further and transmits signals with higher stability and less video lag, offering the pilot a greater peace of mind during flight. Mavic 3 is DJI’s first drone that offers a High Frame-Rate Transmission with a 1080p/60fps live feed. This means the camera view is displayed at a resolution close to what the camera actually records. O3+ also makes Mavic 3 more responsive to the pilot’s control. Intelligent Modes for Unlimited Possibilities Thankfully, the Cine version still has a micro-SD card slot, so a client can provide you with media and you’re able to hand them the footage at the end of the day. Some of us also prefer to be able to swap out SD cards at intervals throughout the day in case of an accident. That way, we never lose too much footage. If you’re going to rely on the internal storage, you could end up wishing you had just gone with micro SD cards if a crash damages the drone or storage, preventing you from retrieving the footage. I'm also having a difficult time processing (no pun intended) the fact that DJI is offering up a digital zoom, versus an optical one, on such a pricey drone. What's even more perplexing is that the files can only be saved as JPEGs. Some professional photographers and videographers tend to delve into inspections and other industrial use cases. Why did the Mavic 2 Zoom offer up some optical capabilities while the Mavic 3 does not? Then there's a pertinent issue with the unique shape of the lens, though DJI may already have a solution for what's pointed out below.DJI 65W Portable Charger: Fast-charging option with a charging time of approximately 96 minutes and is compatible with current notebooks and smartphones via its USB Type-C output. The Mavic 2 Pro's camera didn't use the full sensor when shooting 4K video clips. Perhaps this was to prevent overheating, given its small housing, but what resulted was line skipping and pixel binning that compromised the overall quality of the footage. Furthermore, if you wanted to hone in on subjects, you needed a whole different drone like the Mavic 2 Zoom. The DJI Mavic 3 Wide-Angle Lens offers an FOV of up to 108° for a more immersive FPV-style flight experience. Tested with a production model DJI Mavic 3 Pro in a closed environment in favorable conditions with an unobstructed wireless signal. Actual results may vary depending on the environment, usage, and firmware version.
