Description

This is the final installment in the Jack Caffrey crime series and, while not full of happy-ever-afters and fully explained summaries, I feel like the series drew to an acceptable close here. Fueled by whisky, e-cigarettes and indifference to authority, Caffery’s the archetypical angst-driven hero, obsessed by the pedophile ring that kidnapped his brother decades earlier. I'm currently TV Content Director on What's On TV, TV Times, TV and Satellite Week magazines plus Whattowatch.

Oliver is a self-made, successful businessman and it's come through his own talent, his own academic knowhow. The Sun", "Sun", "Sun Online" are registered trademarks or trade names of News Group Newspapers Limited.

There was so much for me to work with and real substance to the character too - Jack is honest, brutally honest at times, and there’s a real root of pain that you can play off. When I got to episode five, I read this particular scene and I just instantly thought, “right, I’m in”.

We are soon into a world of conspiracy, snakes, teenage secrets, gruesome wounds, a hermit in the woods, a canine bellyful of jewellery, camp comedy, more snakes, a near-drowning, procedural police work, dream and nightmare sequences and voyeuristic torture scenes. If the London side of the story is a Luther-ish noir, then the Welsh side is a game of True Detective-themed Cluedo, as things go bump in the daytime and the family find intestines dripping from the trees. Based on Mo Hayder’s acclaimed Jack Caffery novels, the series follows DI Jack Caffery (The Midwich Cuckoos star Ukweli Roach), a police officer who grows obsessed with the neighbour he is certain murdered his 10 year-old brother in the '90s.Ukweli is best known for playing the role of FBI psychiatrist Dr Robert Borden in the American TV series Blindspot, which was shown in the UK on Sky Living. The cast of Wolf is led by The Midwich Cuckoos star Ukweli Roach, while Doctor Who’s Sacha Dhawan and Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon both also take on major roles. When Marsh and the team leave without him, he hitches a ride with another celebrated paleontologist, Marsh’s bitter rival, Edward Cope.
